Details of 2009 and 2010 Rally America National Championship Contingency Programs
Subaru of America, Inc. will continue to support Subaru drivers in the 2009 and 2010 Rally America National Championship by again offering prize payouts and start funds at each round of the series as part of its Subaru Rally Support Program. The Subaru PGT Championship Cup funding shifts towards the all-new Super Production (SP) class which will continue to represent the largest total prize payouts in North American rallying. The entire program features a total season purse of nearly $115,000.
Beyond the shift in available funding from the PGT class to the newly-formed SP class, the details of the Subaru Rally Support Program remain relatively the same in 2008. The program will again feature the popular $500 start fund offered to those eligible Subaru entrants who finish outside of the top six or fail to finish the event.* Also, eligible and registered Subaru rally car drivers entered in a Regional portion of a Rally National Championship event weekend will earn a $200 start fund. The Regional portion of the program includes any model year Impreza or Legacy of 1995 model year or newer and is open to any Rally America car class.
The Subaru Rally Support Program was initiated at the beginning of the 2004 season in an effort by Subaru of America, Inc. to facilitate the growth of rallying in the USA. Through this program, Subaru entries have significantly increased at rally events in America over the past 5 years and a highly competitive field of Subaru privateers has been formed.
"Over the seasons, the Subaru Rally Support Program has played an instrumental role in driving an increase in Subaru entries and broadened the competitive depth of the field within the Rally America National Championship and Regional events", explains James Han of Subaru of America, Inc. "Our program has been further refined for the 2009 and 2010 seasons to better meet the needs of eligible entrants and maintain the momentum of the growth of rally. I'm also excited in the commitment that Subaru continues to demonstrate in supporting rally and the development of up-and-coming championship contenders."
