PRE RACE :: DAY 1 :: DAY 2 :: DAY 3 :: DAY 4 :: DAY 5 :: DAY 6 :: DAY 7

Below is Ken Block's blog from Day 7 at the WRC Mexico in Leon.
Sunday was Day 3 and the final day of the rally. It consisted of approx 40 stage miles over 4 stages.

Here’s the technicians that kept putting my car back together all weekend. Chris Komar, Dan Bailey, my lead tech Shaun Jacobs, and WeeGee Smith. Thanks again guys!

This is the note in the car when I got in this morning...apparently, my tech’s thought I needed some positive reinforcement for the day. I left the one on the dash there all day!

Lia was outfitted in her custom Rogue Status dress and DC infant driving shoes today.

This is the view as we wait to go into the second stage of the day. Huge crowds and lots of dust await us. Great stage with a good jump in a wide open area with a ton of spectators.

New situation for me: lots of fans as we wait to go into the special stages. Usually, I am warming up, stretching or collecting my thoughts...but, that’s hard to do at a WRC event when there’s 20 people around the car asking to take pictures and asking for autographs. It’s hard to say no, but I need to focus on getting ready to race. I don’t want to say that it’s annoying (that sounds really pompous, but I can’t think of a better word)...but it can be sometimes!

The control and start area of Stage 18.

On two stages this weekend, I caught someone in front of me (they had issues such as a flat or going off the road). This is what it looks like...no way to race at 90 MPH into corners with this much dust floating in the air. Basically, I had to stop on stage and wait till the dust settled...not a good way to get competitive stage times!

On our way to the ceremonial finish. Lots of people attended...so many that the stadium couldn’t hold everyone. So, the road into and out of the stadium looked like this.

We are just about to enter the finish podium.

Alex waiving to the crowd on the finish podium. Great crowd...Mexico really loves rally.

We have finished WRC Mexico! Car is checked into the final parc ferme. What a struggle of a weekend...but, I am really glad that we were able to finish.

Lots of autographs to sign today. This poster seems to be a fan favorite.

Travis had a huge autograph line today. He signed for almost 2 hours.

We went thru a lot of body panels this weekend. So...end of rally...time to give away the souvenirs! The fans went crazy for used rally car parts.

Another Mexican themed photo. This time it’s; Travis Pastrana, me, John Buffum, Alex Gelsomino and Christian Edstrom. John wanted this photo...we all happily obliged. John has been a great mentor and we really appreciate all that he has done to help us become better racers.
